My wife and I just completed our 15th cruise together; most of which have been on Royal Caribbean.  Enchantment of the Seas is an older ship in the RCI fleet, but exceeded our expectations for a 4 night itinerary.  The ship was lengthened and refurbished in 2005 and still looked fabulous on this cruise 4 years later.  Here are some points I want to touch on:1.  Food - I am one of those people that never related to the continual food complaints on reviews and blogs.  I thought the food was great, as always.  On day 1, I had the Prime Rib, which was cooked exactly to my liking.  The two other nights we spent in the dining room, I tried the Filet of Beef and the Chicken Marsalla.  Again, no complaints.  We ate in Chops Grille one night and, as always, found the dinners to be excellent.  My wife had the Rack of Lamb and I had the 10oz Filet.  I can not imagine either one tasting any better.  For appetizers, we had the Fish Trio (raw, sushi grade fish) and the Shrimp Cocktail.  Both were fabulous.  The Chocolate Mud Pie dessert is a must.  If there was one complaint I had about food, it was the small breakfast menu offered in the main dining room.  There was not much selection.2.  Stateroom - We upgraded to a JS when a price drop was offered.  The room was very nice.  We loved the hard-wood floor in the foyer.  There was more than enough storage.  There was one closet that we did not even use.  To our surprise, RCI now supplies all JS's and above with coffee and tea makers, along with assorted teas and Seattle's Best coffee.  My only complaint about this room was the location.  I purposely booked this room because it was located between the pool areas.  Unfortunately, the deck plans do not show the location of the ping-pong tables, which were directly above us.  During the daytime, there was constant banging.  Luckily, ping-pong was not played at night.   Enchantment has not upgraded to interactive televisions.  You can not monitor your account on this ship.  3.  Service - The service was just what I have come to expect on RCI.  No complaints here.  They did a great job.  Our room attendant did a wonderful job keeping our room tidy and, despite reading complaints about them no longer filling the ice buckets, ours was always full.  Yes, they still do towel animals. 4.  Entertainment - The shows are RCI normal.  We did not attend either of the 2 production shows.  However, the comedian was the funniest we have ever seen on a ship.  The theater on Enchantment fills up quick and may be a tad too small for this ship.  If you walk in at the last minute, you will be standing.  Go early and get a good seat.  It does not help that two entire rows are roped off and reserved for suite guests (GS and up).  5.  Ship - The ship looked great.  They were always cleaning and polishing.  The refurbishment in 2005 changed most of the brass to darker woods.  The Schooner Bar was my favorite lounge on the ship.  Boleros was also nice.  In my opinion, Enchantment has the best Schooner Bar, Concierge Lounge, and Chops Grille in the fleet.  All had floor to ceiling windows and were very comfortable.  My only complaint was the traffic flow to the aft lounge; Spotlight Lounge.  With the addition of Chops Grille, one of the routes to the lounge was cut off.  All traffic must now go through the Schooner Bar, which is a choke point.  All in all, it was a great cruise.  We will definitely consider this ship again for the shorter itineraries.
