Sail Date: Mar 2017

I have sailed Carnival in the pas (Valor, Conquest, Freedom), but have graduated to a more premium line now that I do not cruise with small children. But, when the Carnival Live announcement came out and I saw Tim McGraw was going to do a concert on the ship I decided to book. At that time the ship was the Valor and not the Liberty, but they changed things up later. Liberty is the same class of ship, but it is in serious need of refurbishment and TLC.

Cabin - was in 8378 and it was noisy. Noise from rolling carts above. Noise from the galley attendant across the hall washing dishes and banging things at 2 am - he had the door opened! Cabin is okay, but really was tight for 3 adults to share and would not recommend that again. Furnishings have seen better days. Cabin attendant was not around much and only made up the room and brought fresh towels one time a day. Made a couple of towel animals and acknowledged my status with free bottled water and my birthday with a card and a credit at the photo shop. Plenty of storage in cabin, but not enough outlets. Needs serious refurbishment and new colors - the peach color is ugly!

Embarkation went very smoothly and I commend Carnival on this as it was much better than my past experiences with embarkation. We went to the Lido deck and hit up Guy's Burgers - line was long but went fast. The burger and fries were better than average, but nothing really to rave about. We then sat up in the Serenity area for awhile and had a very attentive waiter bring us drinks. He was great and I am sorry I do not remember his name. We left for the muster drill and it was by far the absolute worst one I have ever been to. It took a good 45 minutes to complete and it was hot and sweaty waiting in line. Something needs to be done to streamline this. On Celebrity we did not even have to line up on deck - we just went to a lounge to check in.
