Wanted to do a Southern Caribbean Cruise to ports we hadn't been to. Picked this because we also wanted to try Royal Caribbean again after a few years absence going on Princess Cruise Lines. There were pros and cons. We were disappointed in RCCL for the cutbacks and add ons they now how. We did not even get shampoo in our room. Only 2 bars of soap! No chocolate on the pillows at night. Little things like that as well as larger things. The room size was very small and the layout for the closet and bathroom were very inconvenient.
The entertainment onboard was pretty good. There was a variety which was a plus. They had an outstanding orchestra with very talented musicians. The saxophonist was terrific. I liked that they used talent they had. The 70's night was fabulous!
We were assigned My Time Dining which was a first for us. It was also the last for us. Didn't like it at all. The dining area we were assigned was extremely crowded with chaos abounding. People coming and going! Waiters everywhere! We ended up eating almost exclusively in the Windjammer Cafe. Much quieter and a better atmosphere for eating. You could get grilled Salmon, Steak or Chicken always plus the items they were featuring.
The bed and sheets must have been very old. It was very flat as well as 2 pillows together! They could take lessons from Princess on nice beds and bedding.
We booked this balcony room (as we prefer balconies) and spend significant time on our balcony. This balcony looked out to a long white roof shielding the life boats. You couldn't see down or take a picture without the roof being in the way. Our room was over the piano in one of the lounges and the piano player/singer was singing and playing until at least 2am every night! It was so loud you could sing along in your room. Would not recommend this room.
