I was joining a Church group of 55 people from Naples Florida. We came over by coach and the embarkation went fairly well, we did have a long line, even though we were in Concierge, but it did not take as long as we feared. We finally got on the ship at 12.30 and it was suggested we go and have lunch as we could not have our cabin until 1pm, but as we had our carry on bags with us we did not want to do this, my friend is 91 years old and I was looking after her bag as well as my own. We sat in the card room for half an hour, then left our bags in our cabin and went off to lunch in the cafe.
We were looked after really well and were allocated a semi-private area of the dining room which was lovely. We were able to sit anywhere in that area which enabled us to sit beside different people every night.
Our cabin was lovely, very comfortable beds and our cabin steward was excellent. The wardrobe was good and had more than enough hangers for our clothes. Only complaint was the 3 deep drawers would have been better with 4 smaller drawers.
Lovely cabin. 4 smaller drawers would have been better than the 3 deep drawers. Also the cupboards over the beds were no use to us as we are both under 5' tall. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was excellent.
Traveled to the port from Naples Florida so did not see much of Ft Lauderdale. The embarkation was OK. A very long line for security but it did move fairly quickly. Then another long line for check in which also seemed to move fairly quickly.
We did not arrive until 3.30pm and just wanted a quick taxi ride up to the shopping district as dinner for us was 6pm. We were hassled at the port gate by lots of men offering tours, one of them persuaded us to go with him for a quick one hour tour and then be dropped off by the shops. (The shopping area is uphill from the port) He assured us his little bus would be leaving in 10 minutes. After 40 minutes we got out and found a taxi. Beware of these buses.
