My husband and I were interested in going to Asia for our first time, so started to research the possibilities. The itinerary offered on this trip was the most attractive, so we booked our cabin many months ahead. We had traveled on the Millennium twice before and would have preferred to try a new ship, but the ports of call were too enticing to pass up.
Both embarkation and disembarkation went extraordinarily smoothly. The staff was overall very pleasant and responsive and is the greatest attribute of this ship. The vessel itself is aging and while it is kept clean and as attractive as possible, is definitely showing the signs of many voyages over the years. We understand that it is to be decommissioned in the not-too-distant future, which would be a wise move.
The ship experienced some plumbing issues during our trip, evidently the result of a guest flushing something that didn't belong in the sewage line. Our cabin was not affected by the blockage and subsequent work to clear it, but we spoke with people who had no toilet access for a day or so while the problem was being resolved. We were on the 7th level and experienced a sewage odor in the hallway in both directions from our cabin, although thankfully, not right in front of it. The odor was obvious for several days during the 2-week trip.
cozy but clean. well located.
Our introduction to Asia! Wish we'd had more time. Loved what we saw.
