When I decided to go on the Norwegian Breakaway I figured it was a no brainer... It left from New York City, so I did not have to fly to get to the cruise. A major convenience, especially since what I really wanted was a "break". There were very few things that could make me unhappy. As someone that really enjoys going on cruises along with my wife Norwegian had very little to do to win over a loyal customer. As it stands, I probably will never cruise with them again.

The three things I wanted should be easy to get on a cruise- lots of sleep, good meals and lots of peace and quiet to read and relax.

I can tell you that I managed to be impressed, and not in a good way. I was impressed by how wrong things went. Here is a short list of the items that went wrong:

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Inside Stateroom

Cabin IA

The decor was simple and "no frills", the bathroom was quite large which is a big plus.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

This is one of those ports that is a real waste of time unless you are going to take an excursion.

Great Stirrup Cay

VERY long lines to get to the tender and once on the island there were no beach chairs available. The beach itself is beautiful, with white sand. Unfortunately, the public beach area also has beautiful white rocks that you can't see in the crystal clear water. I kicked one of these rocks on my way out of the water and hurt a toe. It wouldn't take much for them to clear these out.

Nassau

Nassau is beautiful and inviting. I had a friend pick me up and he took me for a private tour around the island.
