This is my 1st trip to Alaska and I must say it was a very pleasant experience. I arrived in vancouver on Friday 1 Day early. Holland America booked myself and my aunt and uncle in a room at the Fairmont Waterfront right next door to the pier so it was a very quick walk which is great since my uncle is in a scooter. We got aboard at 11:30 and headed to the lido for lunch. Our rooms were ready by 1:30 and our luggage was delivered by 3:00. The room was amazing very spacious with a tub and shower and a nice balcony. Our scenic cruise through Tracey Arms was beautiful and we saw some whales. Our stop in Juneau was a cold and rainy day but our tour guide said it was about average to have alot of rain. We did the city tour and hatchery very good excursion. Our next stop was Skagway and it was hot as heck. We did the train ride it was very hot the train had no A/C so it was a very hot ride. But other than that it was a very good ride.Glacier bay was a very neat experience as we saw a good amount of calving and some whales. It started out foggy but cleared up very quickly. The scenery was gorgeous. The final stop was Ketchikan and it was also very hot. we did the saxman village tour very neat and also saw some eagles. The ship itself was in very good shape. As soon as I got aboard I looked for Okie Dokie and found him he is simply the best. Our cabin stewards was awesome. The spa was wonderful I got a pedicure and the hot stone massage. The food was excellent in the Pinnacle and Dining room. The lido was great for the pasta but the other selections were not quite as good. All in all it is definite a fantastic cruise and Holland America definitely made it a pleasurable one as well.
