This was our first cruise, 8 days to the south pacific. Being a first cruise we have nothing to compare it to, but we were so happy with every part of the 8 days.
It was an awful day in Sydney for embarkation, and having being told our embarkation time was later than the original time due to the ship having to be totally sanitsed die to a gastro outbreak on the previous cruise, we thought oh no!. It was pouring with rain and we were getting very wet. After 2 hours of wandering around we thought we would just go and see if we could at least find some respite from the rain at the OPT. We got there and found that they were in fact boarding passengers, so from the time we arrived at the terminal, it was about 25 minutes until we were on the ship. Such a relief and the process was flawless. We wandered the ship with our mouths open, unable to believe what we were seeing. Unbelievable facilities. We headed to the Windjammer for lunch which was beautiful, then settled onto a deck chair with cocktails and waited for the staterooms to be ready.
We had a balcony stateroom and it was fabulous, very roomy and the bathroom was great.
Perfect. Roomy, clean and well maintained. Great facilities. Bathroom was well appointed and always clean, even when we left the room in between activities, and used towels, they were replaced with clean ones when we returned.
Not really an excursion, but Mare was a great place. Beautiful beach and the locals were very friendly.
