This was our third Oceania cruise and our 15th overall. As others have said, the ship is beautiful, well maintained, and the food was excellent. We were originally schedule to be on a January trip but they were apparently oversold so we were offered incentives to move to the February 2 one. We had paid for a veranda stateroom and with the offer to switch we were upgraded to a PH-1, given an extra $200 OBC, given $559 cash, and were reimbursed $800 for the airline change charges. We have been to the Caribbean a number of times and since we are not beach people, don't particularly care for most of the islands - the purpose of the trip was to get out of cold weather and just relax and enjoy ten days.
Having a Penthouse Suite gave us a butler which was nice but not of great value. He (Titus) was very friendly and offered many suggestions, but other than bringing us canapes in the afternoon and bringing breakfast a couple of mornings, we didn't use him much. It was nice having access to the Executive Lounge to read real newspapers and get a first cup of coffee each morning.
We went to each of the specialty restaurants once. The food was great in each and the service was very good except in Polo Grill where we didn't see our waiter much and weren't offered coffee with dessert (although we would have declined if so offered). Speaking of service, we felt that in most dining venues it was not as good as we had experienced on previous Oceania cruises. That was evident in Terrace Cafe about half the time, sometimes in Waves, and twice in the main dining room.
The size of the suite, the bathroom, the closet, and the veranda were all excellent.
Just walked around the town and was not impressed.
Embarkation was fast and easy
We walked around the port area but, since it was Sunday and early, most places were closed.
Cab drivers were very pushy, to the point of being obnoxious. The businesses close to the port were not appealing at all.
This was a beautiful island with crystal clear water and white powdery sand. We rented a car for the day (50 Euros) and just drove around to various beaches. The roads weren't in great shape and the signage was difficult to follow, but the destinations were worth the effort. The highlight was St. Jean Beach and the Eden Rock Hotel.
