The review on this ship is wrong in that there are "plenty of loungers". Actually there are but at least 1/2 of them are saved, only on days at port you can find a lounger, forget it on sea days. Dinners in dining room are excellent, buffet is mediocre. Rather than self serve ice cream, they have an attendant who just fills the cone flush with the cone, totally chintzy. Much smaller rooms than on the bigger ships. A family of four in these rooms was barely tolerable.

Pool is very small, and shops were usually closed. While it being a smaller ship means it is easy to get around, lots fewer amenities and things to do than the larger RC ships. My kids who enjoyed all the fun things to do on Indpendence of the Seas on our last cruise were bored on this one during sea days. No putt putt, no wave pool, just a climbing wall in addition to an incredibly small pool was it. Small motor hotels have a bigger pool than this one.

Service was good but Empress was reall dull next to the larger ships, and the seat saving on this ship is out of control, I heard many others complaining about it. Even on a island beach shore excursion we barely got a lounge chair because all the "seat savers" were running amok. I heard Carnival has a policy against this so I am going to cruise with them in the future, not being able to sun on the top deck really ruins a cruise.

Cabin Review

Cabin Ocean view State Room

At least 1/3 smaller than the equivalent room on the larger ships, our family of four could barely move. Two of us would leave the room so the other two had room to dress, shower, etc.
