We are retired and have cruised Carnival many times - this was one of the best ever! The crew was great from stewards (Mochammad and his assistant!) to waiters and chefs to bartenders to Captain. The heart of the cruise, though, though, was the Cruise Director "Dr E!" He loves his passengers, especially the kids, and makes everyone smile as soon as he is around. He is the best I have ever seen on any cruise line. We had over 1000 kids on the cruise and never had an issue. They were kept so busy and entertained we kept hearing them complain to parents they wanted to be in Camp Carnival or the teen clubs with their friends. KUDOS to Carnival for the kids crew!!
The Captain had to decide if we could dock in Costa Maya due to high wind and choppy seas. We missed the port, all excursions were credited immediately, and the fabulous crew made sure we had another Fun Day At Sea! We heard no complaints around the ship about the missed port, unlike some other cruises where a port had to be skipped.
Take the Mayan Ball Game tour on Cozumel!!! The athletes playing the game are unbelievable! The tour guide is very knowledgeable and the Mexican dancers during the light lunch are fabulous. This is one of my favorite tours ever! Tip: The beach stop at the end of the tour is only about 20 minutes so the group voted to skip it - not much time to change and swim!! We got back to port about 20 minutes early and could take a leisurely walk back to the ship.
Very clean and plenty of storage. We love the "motion of the ocean" so book up front and high. Some of our neighbors were not so happy as we had several days with choppy seas. Book mid-ship and low if motion is a problem.
Carnival has a really nice setup for passengers waiting to board.
We walked to the beach and played in the warm water. Great beach day!
