I live in Ft. Lauderdale so the best part about cruising out of Port Everglades is that I get to wake up and arrive leisurely after a 15 minute Uber ride. I will say, from arrival to being on board with another couple in tow in another room we both were out of the Uber and on board in no longer than 20 minutes. That's amazing to me and really should have set my expectations from the start that they have this down to a science. First impressions, honestly, were that the boat was smaller than I thought it would be. I've been waiting to go on an Oasis class ship for over a decade now and have been building my self up. I kinda overdid it. Good news folks, turns out must have just been my eyes that day because strangely as the trip went on I started to really take in the ship and realized how massive this ship was. I couldn't believe it and, to state the most commonly used phrase on here about this ship, I could not believe I was on a ship most the time.
I was only aware once that we were on a big ship and that was in Jamaica. When it came close to the time to be all aboard, about a half an hour before all aboard, the line extended back all the way to the market from the entry way. They had one door open for all the thousands of people attempting to get in. The line didn't move, the heat was blazing down on us, and everyone's patience had met their limits. I truly can say this was the worst experience of my cruise and almost of any cruise. This was HORRIBLE but the service on board and the ship itself made up for it and I forgot about it after a drink at the pool a little later.
We did the Premium Drinking package and the Refresher Package as well. I don't drink much but my partner does so it worked well for us. We also did 5 nights speciality dining package and I'm soooo happy we did. We got to try everything, except Izumi. I can't tell you whether I liked Central Park 150 or Chops more but both were my favorites, we even chose Chops to eat at twice with our package due to our amazing server, Christian. Our waiter in Central Park 150 was equally amazing buuuut Christian was just....amazing. We were not as impressed with Giovanni's Table. They messed up our reservation and we wound up having to eat outside in the heat on formal night in tuxes. Not the best environment and my food wasn't that great in my opinion but still not anywhere close to bad. Samba Grill...FANTASTIC! Great atmosphere and location up there but the meats were AMAZING!!! Highly recommend this dining location and fantastic for a more laid back and casual experience.
Our cabin was the PERFECT location on the ship. We were in 6574 and 6576. These cabins connected and between the two of us and our balconies with the dividers pulled back and connecting doors it was like having a suite...I mean as close as I have come to yet haha. Love the setup of the bathrooms and design was still modern enough...not Harmony modern of course but still very nice and not yet dated. The only area of opportunity here is that I WISH Royal Caribbean would get some good air conditioning in their cabins. This is the second cabin I've been in that was burning up. Our room attendant Abdul, who was amazing, brought us a fan and saved our entire vacation.
We love Cozumel and would go back over and over. Always head to Playa Mia and spend the day. Great beach!
The shopping area is nice but my problem with this place is that it's so far away from all the excursions and I've never been too impressed by the actual town itself.
Beautiful location, beautiful beaches, beautiful facilities, rocks in the water make the water impossible to relax!!!
