We flew to Ft. Lauderdale from Myrtle Beach, SC on Sat. July 18.  Stayed at the Comfort Inn where we had booked a package that included transportation to the Port of Miami of Sunday.  We left the hotel at 11:30 am on Sun. morning.  After standing in line to go through security we were given a zone number ansd waited to go through check in.  The wait wasn't bad at all.  We boarded the ship and was in awe of the deck 3 American lobby.  At this point it was about 1:15 so we went up the lido deck for lunch.  Afterwards we went to our stateroom and was greeted by our room steward Jimmy - he was awesome - wish we could have brought him home with us.  Jimmy kept our room immaculate, kept our ice bucket filled AND we had carried on a small collapsible cooler that he also kept filled with ice.  We spent the next few hours exploring the ship.  We found the Bronx Bar, small bar on deck 5.  It was never crowded and it quickly became our fav spot to stop by and have a drink and a chat with Gabriel, the bartender at the Bronx Bar - he was awesome as well.  As we left Miami we stood on our balcony and watched Miami slowly disappear.  When it was time for dinner, fortunately we left about a half an hour early (we had the late seating) to head to the Washington Dining room for dinner.  Good thing we left early because it took us quite awhile to find it - hint: on deck 5, walk to the aft stairs and go down to deck 4 or 3 if you are on the main floor of the dining room.  We ate in the dining room the first 3 evening and the last evening.  We opted for pizza or something else the other evenings.  The days we were in port we had cont. breakfast delievered to our room.  The service was great and the delivery punctual. On Monday was a day at sea so we hung out at the pool for a little while, went to the talk about the ports - very informative - a must do.  We spent the rest of the day drinking and hanging out in the casino.  Tuesday we were in Grand Cayman when we woke up.  We had to take a tender off the ship and we left the ship about an hour after it had been cleared.  No trouble getting off the ship. We had booked a tour through Nativeway Watersports to go to stingray city, reef snorkeling, and Rum Point where lunch was included.  We were so pleased with this tour.  We had two guides on our boat and there were 10 of us.  As we pulled into stingray city, the other boats were packed - not ours - the guides were great and so was the tour.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone.Wednesday we were in Roatan - what a beautiful island!  It was a little later in the day, so we had breakfast on the lido deck - omlette station - yum!  Anyway...we had book the Best of Roatan tour through Victor Bodden tours.  What a great decision!  We had requested Tex as our guide and that was who we were given.  Tex drove us around the island and showed us where the ship's excursion would come to swim with the dolphins before anyone got there.  He showed us a lot of beautiful places and then took us to Victor's to see the monkeys and do the zipline.  We were there before anyone else, so Tex had a guy take us around to see the animals.  The monkeys were awesome.  My husband and I, along with our guide were the only ones in the cage with 3 monkeys - they crawled all over us and were fascinated with my husband's hat and a coke bottle.  After that we were harnessed up and our guide took us ziplining - he was great - he kept our camera with him and took pictures for us.  They were very professional and safety conscious at the ziplining.  It wasn't until we left with Tex that we realized it had been Victor who took us to play with the monkeys and was our ziplining guide.  My husband wanted to go snorkeling so Tex took us to a beach where my husband could rent snorkel equipment and go snorkeling.  Since I had gotten sunborned the day before, he took us somewhere where there was a bar/restaurant that I could sit at and watch.  He then took us to Tabayana Beach - which was very crowded, but gorgeous to look around.  He was very accomodating to whatever we wanted to do.  I highly recommend getting a tour guide through Victor Bodden.Thursday we were in Belize, where the tendering process is a little unnerving.  Now, if you have an excursion booked through Carnival you are given a place and time to meet on your excursion ticket.  If you have a private excursion or nothing booked you have to go to the Eagles lounge to get a ticket catch a tender - they announce that they will begin distribution at 830 - get to the Eagles lounge no later than 8 - its first come first serve. Once you have your sticker you have to stay in the Eagles lounge until the ship is cleared and then you will be escorted down to deck 0 to the tenders based on your sticker.  Fortunately we were on tender 1.  We had book our excursion through Major Tom cave tubing.  We were met at the pier by someone carrying a sign and were directed where to go.  After paying we were put inot a group of about 40 and escorted to our bus with 5 guides. (I wouldn't recommend leaving the tourism area if you don't have an excursion booked).  On our bus we had about a 40 min. or so ride out the the cave tubing location.  We stopped at a grocery store along the way where we could use the restroom (bring your own toilet paper) and grab a snack.  Throughout our drive 2 of our guides (Peter and Mike)  told us about the history, people, religion, flora, etc. of Belize.  Don't be fooled by their appearance!  They are very fun, professional, and informative.  Cave tubing was awesome.  the walk out to the cave was a little tedious, but it was a great experience and we stopped along the way to swim, jump off rocks, and jump off the rope swing.  Afterwards we were given a lunch of chicken and rice and beans - it was great!  We were take back to pier and dropped off, we had about 30 minutes to spare before we had to be back on ship - enough time for my husband to try a Belikin beer - which he enjoyed!Friday we were docked in Cozumel.  We had made reservations to go the Nachi Cocum beach club.  We got a taxi easily for $15.  We were at the beach club right at opening, there were only 2 other people there and there was only 40 scheduled to be there for the whole day.  The water was gorgeous.  We rented snorkel equipment and went snorkeling, there wasn't really much to look at off the shore.  Initially our waiter was very attentive.  He brought us drink and kept checking on us, he brought us some chips and salsa when my husband asked and later he came back and asked us if we wnated an appetizer, we ordered the wings to split (there were 4 of them) and they were very good and a pretty good size - can't complain.  We then rented a wave runner for 30 minutes.  It was awesome, a great time. When we came back I sat back down at our chairs and our wing plate was still sitting there.  My husband went snorkeling and I sat at our chairs.  For 20 minutes I sat and waited and the waiter never came.  When my husband came back he went to the bar and got his drink himself.  It was getting close to the time that we needed to leave to head back to the pier and we didn't even get to have our lunch.  I have to say that I was a little disappointed in our waiter.  Especially since there were pultiple waiters and there were only 40 people there.  At any rate, it was a beautiful place, but my least favorite excursion.  Our waiter did get a taxi for us that returned us to the pier for $15.  WE shopped around for a few minutes and then boarded to boat, so I could go see the Dr. as I had gotten an ear infection.  The doctor's prices were reasonable, as was my antibiotic. We skipped formal dinner on Fri. night due to my ear infection, however we did go out to watch the comedian, Percy Crews at 10:45 in the Eagles lounge - he was hilarious.  Sat. our last day of sea, my husband laid out by the pool (always plenty of seats) and I rested.  I did manage to go the debarkation meeting.  Sat. evening we went to dinner and spent the evening in the casino. So sad to see Sun. morning come.  We were in Miami when we woke up.  We had used the general debarkation, so we had set our luggage out the night bfore and waited to be called off the ship.  We had one last breakfast on the lido deck and then waited to be called.  It was about 1030 or so when we got off the ship.  We went and collected out luggage off the carousel and stood in the customs line.  We had booked a return shuttle back to Ft. Lauderdale airport - we called the number we were given once we were outside the terminal and out on our orange stickers we had been given and were promptly picked up and shuttled to Ft. Lauderdale - where unfortunatley we had to wait 8 hours for our flight. All in all we were very pleased with our cruise, the ship was immaculate and someone was always busy cleaning.  The crew and staff were friendly and accomodating.  Our only complaint would be dining.  While the food was always good and there were plenty of choices, the times you could get various things was limited.
