For years we have discussed doing a Panama Canal trip, having visited most of the Caribbean islands on other cruises. This was a 10 day, which is on the outer limit of what my wife and I consider, especially with a lot of sea time. We found an offer that was quite a bit less than what we had been seeing and we talked two of our friends in joining us. The boat was very nice. The food was excellent. The evening shows were spectacular.

We looked at this cruise as an opportunity to see not only the canal, but a few countries we hadn't visited before. We toured at every port and got an overview of the islands and countries. We did the whitewater rafting tour in Costa Rica and had a great time.

However my wife and I are 70 years old and sometimes we felt we were the youngest couple on the boat. This is not a cruise I would recommend for families.
