It was our first time on Oceania, but most everyone else on board had been on Oceania many times. I know why. We were on the Riviera for a 12 night cruise to the eastern Caribbean. The food is excellent with great service. The four specialty restaurants are top of the line in quality and ambiance. Even the buffet food service has excellent, and diverse choices along with a grill that always servies prawns, lobster, and steaks.

We had been told the entertainment wasn't great, but they have really improved according to fellow travelers. We found the shows excellent, with funny comedians, a 7 piece cruise band, a string quartet, and very talent singers and dancers. The production shows were top notch with talent, lighting, costumes, choreography, and production values.

The ship is full of beautiful artwork. Every cabin is roomy. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly, but don't both paying for their transfer service if your point of departure is Miami. Taxis to/from airport have a fixed rate of $27 + tip and there are plenty of them both ways.

Cabin Review

Verandah Stateroom

Cabin B1

Very comfortable with king size bed, sofa, table, desk, flat screen TV, large closet, plenty of drawer space, good size balcony with table and 2 chairs, and large bathroom with shower and tub.

Amenities were Bulgari. I asked for and received allergen free bedding.

Port Reviews

Barbados

Largest Carihola store in islands. Easy to shop right on pier for any goods.

St. Barts

Lovely, wealthy island with gorgeous shops and yachts everywhere. Unfortunately, we had to tender in from ship and the water was very rough. The port was closed at noon to more tenders. All tours had been cancelled already due to rough water.

Miami

We travelled straight from airport to ship with no time to visit Miami. We have visited in the past and enjoyed its many sites including South beach, the symphony hall, Vizcaya mansion and grounds, the pier and park area along Biscayne Blvd., etc.
