This particular itinerary was very interesting and the staff was top notch as our previous experiences on Celebrity. We enjoy meeting people and participating in the ships events, but the level of maintenance is not equivalent to other cruise ships. We generally like the Celebrity experience, but we will not cruise on the Infinity ship again, or any ship in the older Millennium class. We felt that the ship's condition was suitable for a discounted cruise, not a Celebrity full price cruise.
The ships exterior paint job was sloppy, paint specs on deck floors and railings. Some outside deck floor drains were clogged from previous paint jobs. In the "upscale" Constellation lounge, paint was visible on the outside glass panels and the outside artificial grass which was flapping in the wind. In the Oceanview Cafe, exterior paint was overrun on the edge of glass walls glass sealant. There was some type of exterior awning above the glass walls in the Oceanview Cafe which was torn and dirty. Some of the ships interior walls and doors were showing substantial wear and tear.
The ships daily schedule of activities seemed to be include way too many jewelry sales, art auctions, health seminars and wrist watch sales events. Entertainment was mediocre and cruise ship caliber style entertainment. Nothing memorable.
The worst experience for us was the lack of maintenance of our cabin. The shower floor was with black/grey/yellow mold, missing tile grout and mismatched tiles from a previous repair attempts. The previous days water was standing beneath the shower floor, so that it would "gush up" when stepping into the shower. That was a gross feeling. The shower floor was arched up for some reason. We began to sneeze and looked inside the cabin air duct to find that it was coated in a layer of grey fuzz in the cabin air vent.
