We had such a great time on this cruise. We felt like we were in a brochure for a great family vacation! It was our first cruise since having kids, and our 5 and 7 year old sons really enjoyed it - they never asked to use their iPads during the cruise, not even once. Our older son spent many hours per day in the Oceaneers Lab and he was always doing something different (playing musical chairs, Jenga, little science projects) every time we went to pick him up. Our younger son was a little more hesitant but did spend several hours in the Club once he discovered the giant slide. We really enjoyed being able to relax and get a cocktail at Keys, the adults-only piano lounge, which had excellent drinks and a top-notch piano player. The seated dinners worked well with children, and overall I thought the food was really quite good and had a lot of healthy options (and a lot of unhealthy ones, too - I mean, it is vacation!) The service on the ship was amazing, and you got the sense people enjoyed working on the ship.

I felt like the cruise did a great job of having something fun for all ages. My kids are not particularly into Disney stuff so we did not do the Disney characters, but they enjoyed having the movies playing everywhere. The pools were crowded at times but workable, and my older son went down the water slide about a million times. I felt like while most kids were pretty well-behaved, there was a nice tolerance for "kids being kids". Our last family vacation previously was in France and it was nice on the cruise to not have to spend so much time telling them to sit still and be quiet. I probably wouldn't really recommend this cruise if you're not bringing kids, though - unless you really, really like kids. If you are traveling with children, I highly recommend it! We are going to try the Fantasy next February.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Cabin 04E

The cabin felt very spacious and had tons of storage. The split bathroom was really nice. We spent a lot of time on the verandah enjoying the ocean view!

Port Reviews

Miami

We stayed on Miami Beach the night before the cruise and it was luxurious! Beautiful beach.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We took a taxi (which is kind of a fun experience - the taxi is more like a small bus and they cram as many people as they can in) to Seven Mile Beach near Calico Jacks. We rented two beach chairs right on the water and our kids had a great time in the low surf. It's a busy beach but we had a lovely time. After 2 hours we had to get our pale Northern selves out of the sun, so we took another taxi back to the ship.
