This was our third cruise, first on Norwegian, and I have to say it did not live up to either of the others (Carnival and RCI). First, the food was just OK.. even in the specialty restaurants. Nothing bad just nothing great. Second, this cruise allowed passengers to buy an unlimited liquor package so that your booze was free. That was great. Except trying to GET a drink at a bar or by the pool was difficult at best. Normally waiters come by all the time asking if you would like a drink because cruise lines make a lot of money from alcohol. But in this case they actually make more money if you DON'T drink so they make ordering difficult. More times than not people would just line up at the bar. Really bad.

Then there was the entertainment. They had a company of kids in their 20's who were 'singers and dancers' and it was really like watching a High School musical. Horrible. Then they had four comedians from Second City doing improv.. but honestly they were not funny. No one was laughing much and I heard many people talking about how bad it was after the show. There were a couple of good shows.. the magician was really good as were the two acrobats from the Ukraine who did a sort of Cirque de Soleil show.

Then the service. Our room steward was friendly enough but both times I asked him for something he seemed confused and found a reason to say Sorry, Can't Do It. Then the waiters by the pool (all two of them) were just inundated with people asking for drinks that clearly they were tired and not happy. Never smiled, never responded when you said something to them... just unhappy campers and it showed. Same for the waitstaff in the bars. One or two people to work the whole room?? Read more
