February 11, 2017 - Port Canaveral

Good itinerary - great weather - didn't realize this was a "gamblers' cruise" and we're not gamblers. I'm sure they enjoyed it. We like Carnival's Sports Bars - get to keep track of U.S. sports - especially nice during college basketball season - very smoky in casino which spread to Sports Bar (supposedly non-smoking). Hate that Carnival did away with table linens for sit down dining rooms except on formal nights. Felt like I was at a roadside diner. Carnival just isn't my cup of tea - chose the cruise for convenience (part of back-to-back). Otherwise, back to Princess for me. The public areas are kept as cold as refrigerators. You had to have long sleeves at all times. Drinks were expensive and not that good - had better on Princess. The staff was nice - service was excellent. Bent over backwards to please - but I have found that to be true (except on Pride of Hawaii [now only Pride of America, I think] which operates with an American crew - ugly).

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

The room was satisfactory - decor is decidedly "ORANGE"

The storage was terrific - flat screen TV

What was ridiculous was the bathroom - without getting too graphic, you could not sit properly on the toilet - it was at an angle to the tub (small jacuzzi - who needs it) and was beyond silly. Lighting was okay - quite dated in my opinion. The balcony was long and skinny - not very practical, considering this was supposedly a suite. Nice dressing area.
