I wanted to write a short review to address what you can expect on Millie when there is a problem with illness, it's something a lot of people are considering and I've just seen it first hand. I'm not going to address the usual - just merely say that I thought Millie looked great after her recent refurb and that food and service were usually excellent and never disappointing. Except the coffee, which is still appalling.

About three days after we set out, we started getting notices through typed leaflets in our cabins and on one of the TV channels about a norovirus outbreak. Essentially the information said that you might see enhanced cleaning procedures and it might be necessary to end self-service in the buffet area. Nothing further was said, but here's what I observed and heard from other guests.

The TV channel notified us that a "small percentage" of guests had experienced stomach flu-like systems. It also said passengers were required to notify the medical staff if they had symptoms and hinted that you might be disembarked if you did not comply. Once that started, cleaning procedures became much more noticable and at every dining room and ship entry point, crew members insisted on hand sanitizer - I had one guy literally chase me through a ship re-entry line with the little bottle because he hadn't seen me use the dispenser. Frequently touched fixtures like elevator buttons and railings throughout the ship often had a residue on them - other guests told me it has bleach in it, and if you leaned on it, expect your clothes to be ruined. I didn't experience that personally but it smelled right.

Cabin Review

Cabin IS

Inside cabin with door opposite the bed (different layout than most). Very quiet and comfortable, looks like its fabrics were updated recently. No noise from underneath (it's lowest cabin level). Long hike to midship elevator.
