After a wonderful Baltic cruise on Marina last summer we decided to take a Western Caribbean cruise.
The cruise did not start auspiciously as boarding was delayed several hours due to a Coast Guard full ship inspection. Additionally, while it was a beautiful day there were 25-30 mph winds which made spending time on deck a challenge. The crew did yeoman work to get everyone and everything on board with no more chaos or delay than necessary. Dinner at Jacques that evening was excellent although the service was slightly slower than normal due to the crew playing catch up.
The next morning we awoke to the noise of waves breaking (our suite was the furthest forward and right above the waterline of the bow. A howling wind created rough seas that the captain later said were 16-17'. There was a lot of up and down motion due to us being in the bow but surprisingly no side to side motion. Getting around required some timing and holding on to railings. Amazingly room service was prompt and cheerful.
