This was the 2nd time we'd taken this 14-night Southern Caribbean cruise - we enjoyed it so much in 2015 we booked it for 2017. We were not disappointed the 2nd time. This was the first time for us to experience an overnight port (Curacao) and we truly enjoyed the relaxation as there was no rushing to "last call" on the ship. Curacao is a lovely island so 2 days was perfect.

As for Celebrity - we love the level of service and we always enjoy the food and the passengers. We purchased the 4-night specialty restaurant package on board (larger discount than pre-booking) and we enjoyed 2 nights in Tuscan Grille, one dinner in Qsine and great French cuisine in Murano. The MDR always met our needs and expectations. With Select dining we pre-booked our dining time and then had the same waiter (Laurence who was great and had great stories) at the same table.

We booked 3 private excursions and 3 ship excursions. The more cruises I take - the fewer ship excursions I book as the private excursions are much better quality and much better deal financially (just takes some pre-planning). One very large disappointment was the Celebrity Chef Market Excursion in St. Lucia. The Chef does not chose any of the food (vegetables, fruit, spices etc) and the fish market was a store with frozen fish. The cost is $139 and includes a dinner in Tuscan Grille but that should only be $45. The description of the event and the experience were completely opposite.

Miami

We stayed in Fort Lauderdale at Hallendale Best Western Plus. Hotel was good. Unfortunately we landed at FLL on January 6, 2017 - 30 minutes after the deadly shooting at terminal #2 luggage carousel. We had to stay on our plane on the tarmac for 8 hours and be evacuated to Port Everglades which changed all our plans - there there was no time to enjoy Fort Lauderdale or Miami prior to January 8th ship departure.
