Sail Date: Jul 2009

A group of 15 (family and friends) sailed on the Celebrity Millennium out of Seward on July 17, 2009.  This is the second cruise with Celebrity for my husband and me, and we were not disappointed.  The food was scrumptuous ~ especially the day they offered a brunch buffet.  The food presentation was beautiful, the ice sculptures were amazing, and the experience was divine.  Our ports were:  Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, and Ketchikan, before debarking in Vancouver, B.C.The Concierge class room we were upgraded to was beautiful.  We noticed that the carpeting and bed were both newer.  And, the addition of a new flat-screen television was fabulous.  Our stateroom steward, Santano, was quick to respond to any request we had.  And, the veranda was such a plus for scenic Alaska.  The norovirus had affected a few people on the ship, and the entire staff on the ship went into 'protection mode' to try to keep the virus from spreading. They did a marvelous job.  I know it took extra work, but they got the virus contained and it did not affect as many as it could have.  And, just as our first Celebrity cruise, there was not one irritable or disagreeable staff member.  Everyone was helpful, pleasant, and fun.  Ivan, our waiter at the Metropolitan Restaurant, was attentive and personable.  He made sure we all received exactly what we had ordered and that it was to our liking.  The only negative was the magic show in the theater. It was hokey and melodramatic, but all other shows were very good.  We especially enjoyed the iBroadway show and the quartet, Sea Sharps. The Thassalotherapy pool on the ship is relaxing and warm and just the right place to relax after a day exploring Alaska.  I wish not to be terribly long-winded, so I will sum this cruise up by saying that it was fabulous.  Celebrity Shines Again for us!

Cabin Review

Room - Concierge Class, #8133.  Good-sized closet, great view, spacious veranda, and comfortable bed.  Our 'neighbors' must have had their television audio at it's highest level, so we heard their television a little bit.  Hallway was quiet.
