We've been on two other Carnival cruises on different ships each time. This by far was our worst experience cruising. It was our honeymoon cruise so we booked a balcony room on the 7th floor so we could enjoy the views from the balcony.

To start with the fridge in the room didn't work so it took them two days to replace it. The bathroom light fixture above the sink had dead moths laying in it when we got on the ship and still had them when we got off. The mirrors in the room were dirty and the counters were dusty. The staff on board wasn't as friendly as previous cruises, like my husband mentioned it felt like we were on a ship that the employees knew it was going out of business and they were all going to be without jobs. On previous cruises they were so friendly and nice, and when greeting us called us by name. Not the case on the Miracle!

The adult pool on the Serenity deck looked like dirty lake water, you couldn't see the bottom or sides and it was left open this way even after I reported it. I manage an apartment complex that has a pool and a hot tub and know the requirements for maintenance and these were not maintained properly. Granted they can get dirty but proper health procedures would require them to temporarily close them until the chemical levels were within the guidelines for operating a public pool.

Cabin Review

The layout of the room was really nice. We had our own private balcony with two chairs and a small table. The room was large enough with room to move around and plenty of closet and drawer space. It had a couch that looked like it could be made into a bed but we didn't check it out further. It was set up with a king size bed which was really comfortable, bedding, pillows, etc. There is a fridge, safe, and a desk area with a seat that can be used for putting on make-up that has a large mirror and great lighting. It had a small flat screen TV that was wall mounted to swivel so you could watch it from the bed or couch.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Seemed very organized and went quickly to get on the ship. Found out that Carnival is the only cruise line that uses this port.
