Ship: Amazing, beautiful and impressive, still looks new. Easy to get around and if you get lost just asked someone. Suite: I am so glad we had a suite because of the privileges you get with it. Your own concierge, butler, breakfast and lunch at Cagney's which we went everyday. Because we were in a suite, we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us and fruit. I had asked to just have grapes and bananas delivered everyday. One of things I learned from these boards is to ask to have the contents of the refrigerator removed and I did ask for that and also asked to have it stocked with milk for our son each evening and they did that for us every morning and evening. I also asked for a pitcher of ice water every day which was delivered each morning. We had appetizers delivered everyday and sometimes twice a day. They delivered those hotel pretzels everyone was talking about and my son had actually spotted those in the buffet so he went upstairs a few times to get us a few. They also delivered cookies on Glacier day and more appetizers. You will definitely get spoiled staying in a suite, it will be very difficult to go back. We received early debarkation and in Canada we were the first one off the ship! We we left the ship on Sunday, Monica was there waiting in a special place for the suite guests and we bypassed everyone and got right off. Our luggage was in a special area closest to the exit. Amazing! Staff: All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. I was amazed how in a very short time they started calling us by our name. I have read reviews here that said the staff were rude and unfriendly, but I have to say, I don't understand it, because they were all fantastic and went out of their way to say hello, we could not have encountered a better staff on that ship. Our butler and concierge were amazing. Our room steward was very nice, but still has a lot of learning to do. On our second night he did a towel animal and put it in our room and not in our son's room which I couldn't understand, so I spoke the butler and told him how our son was very disappointed, we would prefer not to have a towel animal, just make sure our son gets one, he assured us that will never happen again and sure enough the second night, our son had two towel animals and said he made up for it for not leaving one the night before, we had towel animals every night after that expect for the last night. Activities: There a lot of activities to do, you cannot get bored. They had the rock climbing which my son did on the first day, bowling which we did and my husband entered the bowling tournaments with the staff which was so much fun. They had bingo which we did on the last full day there, I heard on other reviews how they push the bingo on you, but we didn't find that at all. They had movies playing, wii which my son participated in and lots of shows and other things to do, you can't get board at all. We did spend a lot of time in our room because it was big and nice and we enjoyed the scenery. We saw whales, dolphins it was just beautiful. Food: Now here is where we were disappointed. Like I said above, we were very glad we had the Cagney's for breakfast and lunch because we tried the Summer Palace where my husband ordered a meatball sandwich and said it was okay, I ordered a chicken salad and took on bite and I couldn't eat it, it tasted funny. When arrived at the Summer Palace the recognized me and called me byname and wanted to know why we weren't eating at Cagney's for lunch, I told her I wanted to try something different, well when I was leaving the girl asked how it was and her I'm on my way up there to get a bite to eat because it was not good at all, she said to me I told you. Well apparently, someone must have overheard and there was a bottle of red wine waiting for us when we got to the room an hour later. I had experience another issue which I reported in an earlier quick review here, so I will not get into in this review, however, they director of food and beverages and executive chef, along with the concierge took care of it and treated us to dinner at Cagney's, plus special desserts delivered to our room besides what they normally deliver each evening and another bottle of champagne. We did try the Blue Lagoon and it was good and the buffalo wings (hot ones) were my favorite. Another place we tried was the outdoor grill and it was horrible, the hamburger didn't taste good. They ran out of lettuce and onions and my husband asked if they could get more and the guy said it will take a very long time so after that, we just ate in the specialty restaurants which were good. Drinks: We didn't buy the soda card because my son doesn't drink sodas. He had one smoothie each day. Also, they were not pushing drinks for your to purchase like I had read. I drink a lot of water so I would go up to the bar and ask for ice water and they were fine with it and still had a smile on their faces.Kids Club: My son tried it once and he didn't like it at all. He said they stuck him in the wrong group, we just think there were not very many kids in the group his age. His age group was 6-9 years old and he is 9 years old, so he didn't go back.Reception Desk: They were all very friendly. We asked for a print out of our charges the second day because I learned, once again, from these boards that to check it very carefully. Well thankfully we did that because we were charged someone else's lunch at the Sushi restaurant we went to and they did take care of that. Also, we booked the Bering Sea Excursion through NCL website before our cruise very early on and we noticed that they charged our son for an adult price, so I had to get that fixed, however, when we booked it it was $99, well they rate was now $125.99, so I had to go to the shore excursion desk to fix it and they said the only way they would fix it if I had proof that it was $99 when we booked it, well I sure did because I had printed it out after I booked it in January/February (luckily I thought to bring that) and they went ahead an gave me the appropriate price. Also, we noticed the adult fare went up from $149 to $185.99, but we received the $149 fee. So we started requesting our printouts every two days to double check because trust me you don't want to be in that line the last evening or last morning. Tips: At the end of the cruise e did tip our butler and our concierge. We also would tip folks at the specialty restaurants every time we ate dinner because we felt their service was great.Casino: We gambled at the casino and it was great, not too smokey. There were not pushing drinks there either.Spa: I had a stone massage which was great. I have read on the boards that they push their products afterwards so I was ready and when the gal didn't mention anything, I gave her an extra $20 tip! The first night was little rough, but not too much, I think it took us getting used to it and we were forward, however, after that we were fine. Juneau - We booked our Temsco helicopter tour with dog sledding ourselves and it was cancelled so we were able to take the tram up and see the beautiful view and sites. We actually were able to book another helicopter glacier landing through Era which was amazing, I would recommended taking a helicopter tour with a glacier landing, nothing like this, it was one of our highlights. Skagway - We took the White Pass Scenic Railway tour which we booked when we got off the ship which was a little cheaper, well worth it and we at The Fish Company for lunch best Fish n Chips we have had.Ketchikan: Since we were there for a little time, we booked the Bearing Sea Excursion. My son said that was his highlight of the trip, very nice people and the stories they told were amazing. They caught king crab, shrimp, octopus, small shark. We saw a couple of bald eagles while on the ship. They also provided a little snack towards the end. Once we got off the ship, we did some quick shopping and back on the ship for Glacier Bay. Glacier Bay: We stayed in our room for breakfast and lunch and couldn't have been more happier. Saw amazing Glaciers what else could you say, just beautiful.Victoria, Canada - Once again, short time, so we just took the horse drawn carriage around and had dinner and back on the ship, I wish we were there longer.
