First time cruising and we were very apprehensive as to what to expect! It was amazing and everything was up to our expectations! We flew to Rome and were met by RC representatives where we left our luggage. The flight was fine collected our luggage and we were taken to the bus. Amazed by the size of ship we boarded very easily and we went straight to the windjammer for a snack and a drink. We had a walk round and of course got lost! Went to stateroom and our luggage was outside the door. Unpacked and our holiday started! Had a balcony which was a luxury but really enjoyed it. We opted for the 9.15 meal time which we did think was late but it allowed us to have afternoon tea! We choose a table for 6-8 people first night a bit of a disaster as we had an American man who moaned about everything and was very rude to the waiters but we decided to try one more night and he was fine. The food was amazing and lots of choice, the waiters were very good and took their time to chat to us. The Head waiter fussed over the Americans all week then which is what he wanted! We went to alot of the shows which were very good and the ice show was brilliant. We had pre dinner drinks in the Two Poets Pub shame about the smoke! We did one organized trip which we thought was expensive but we enjoyed it! The other ports of of call we got off the ship and did our own thing. We even got a train to Nice which we were a bit worried about. We were given an itinerary every evening for the next day by the State room attendant who made a different animal each night with towels which were brilliant! We were amazed at the holiday and especially liked the street parties! The only thing we thought the drinks were expensive and the bottles of wine in the restaurant were overpriced! After the first day I wondered why I had been so stressed about the cruise - what clothes to take - would we like it -would we get lost on shore - would we be sea sick - would we like the food - and many more things! ALAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AT ALL! Looking forward to the next one but my husband says we cant afford it but still working on him! THANK YOU NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS FOR MAKING OUR FIRST CRUISE SO ENJOYABLE! HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR!
