We had already done the 7 night UAE cruise 3 times but we decided to give it a fourth run as the Fantasia schedule included some places we had not been to before. We booked cruise only and had a really good price for the Yacht Club suites on the ship so we decided to book it. The itinerary was Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar, Sir Bani Yas Island and back to Dubai.

We were met at the entrance to the check in shed by our butler Genghiz and the pampering experience started there. We were offered drinks and food whilst he attended to the niceties of checking In. We were not allowed to lift a finger even to wheel our own flight bags and were channeled through the shed to the gangway onto the ship and then taken in dedicated lifts for the YC to deck 15 and our cabin 15015.

Our cabin was YC1 grade and whilst it is sold as a suite the cabin size was little different to the balcony cabin size we had on P&O Azura just a few weeks earlier. The bathroom was bigger than that on the Azura because it contained a bath instead of just a shower so you had to climb into the bath to use the shower. Nice towels and dressing gowns. Provision of hot water in the shower was hit and miss sometimes turning to cold when you were in the middle of washing your hair. The "walk in closet" was small and frankly a pain and much inferior to those on P&O. There were insufficient coat hangers but fortunately I had taken more in our cases. Also the hangers are those awful ones which have a metal stick which fits into the fixed loop that goes over the rail. Shelf and drawer space was adequate. Rubbish hairdryer. Comfy beds and lovely bed linen. There were numerous large mirrors which helped to give the impression that the room was bigger than it actually was. Just about sufficient electric sockets for 220v. The balcony was no bigger than on the Azura and the 2 chairs did not recline. No table but a large footstool. We had a minibar included in the price which was restocked twice a day. There was a bottle of bubbly and fruit for us on arrival. We also got petite fours on the first night but then only twice after. We also got our UK daily newspaper on most days.
