We´re a couple and this was our 16th cruise and second in the Caribbean (most of them with Royal Caribbean). We decided for this cruise kind of at last minute since it departed from San Juan and we already were planning a holiday in PR and this became the best way for us to close our vacation and it was planned for us to relax and take an easy week on board and in the ports of call.

Ship: The Jewel is a beautiful ship, this was our first time in the Radiance Class, it has a lot moo natural light and amazing views of the sea from almost everywhere. The navigation was a little bit confusing the first couple of days but you get used to it very fast. I would say she is in a good condition for her age and we didn´t see anything in a bad condition. Pooldeck was OK and the loved the solarium Thai decoration / theme that makes you feel like you are in a tropical jungle paradise :-)

CABIN: It was a las minute decision and therefore we decided for an inside cabin, we got assigned the cabin 3509 in the front of the ship and it was OK, an average inside size for Royal Caribbean, the shower had a sliding door and the closet space was over the average, flat screen TV. Sometimes you could hear the noise from the theatre during rehearsing but it was not that much.

Port Reviews

San Juan

Walking in the streets of Old San Juan, tasting the mofongo from La Mallorquina, the mojitos and empanadas from The Parrot Club and the drinks from Ostra Cost are a must
