This was our 40th anniversary celebration cruise (and our 9th cruise overall). We read many poor reviews lately, but wanted to do this anyway. The Carnival Liberty is not a brand new boat, so don't expect it. It looks like any other thing several years old. Shows a little age and being "dated" in décor at times, but overall there was nothing for us to scream about. The cabin steward was very good. We called for extra ice almost every day...and it was promptly delivered. We called for extra blankets and pillows for the couch (on the first day)....again....delivered promptly. The room was serviced every evening. The only complaint, at all, with the room , was that we thought the tub could have been better cleaned between the previous cruise and the start of ours. We also ordered from the expanded "room service" menu a couple of nights. Believe it or not, the $5 pizza wasn't that bad, and the "old fashioned banana splits" were very good to!

We were pleased with the waiter staff in the dining room. While the food was OK, We thought is was a "step" lower in quality and quantity from a few years ago when we last cruised. Not bad, mind you, but not the great quality of a few years ago. The quality and taste of the prime rib on the formal night was ok...but disappointing. We decided before this cruise to just use the main dining and NOT the Steakhouse....think now maybe paying a few more dollars for a great meal one night would have been worth it!

The shows after dinners were the usual (I've seen great shows so I'm hard to impress here). Went to the "Piano Man" bar, even though we don't drink, and enjoyed it to.

Cabin OS

Cabin was well appointed with a king size bed, couch and chair, ample closet and drawer space, vanity/make up mirror area, bathroom with large sink and jetted tub, small desk area, TV, DVD player, small refrigerator, two types of lighting which could be brightness controlled, balcony with 4 chairs (two of which could be reclined) and two small tables.

Port Reviews

Nassau

Did not take an excursion this time. Went directly on shore and rode the horse and buggy and did some local shopping.
