because this cruise departed auckland and returned to auckland first to melbourne down to the south island of new zealand travelling via milford sound , dusky sounds port chalmers ( dunedin), akoroa ,wellington, gisbourne ,tauranga , auckland travelled alone on this voyage on the golden princess
cabin chosen was inside due to economics but next time would choose balcony small but well appointed and comfortable quality bedding clean and tidy cabinets showing some signs of wear ( drawer knobs loose )
Dining : a truly remarkable experience -- wide variety of styles and and top notch food , attentive staff , nice ambiance ,
a liitle worn in cabinets and drawers ( loose handles ) otherwise well detailed with all facilities 24hr tv with remote , quality bedding, nice bathroom with shower and toilet ( compact ), desk with storage , occasional table , fridge , power outlets ( need adapter ) hair dryer plenty of hanging storage , safe for valuables overall room not large but well appoinrted . As a single traveller through circumstance in my experience i find they charge over double the fare for couples ( each ) which i feel is a litle bit discriminatory as you are consuming less overall
met with friends for a picnic they showed me main sights
travelled by local bus to bayfair shopping centre got some supplies
went ashore travelled to dunedin but found shops looking very tired and tacky tourist stalls
great experience beautiful city great trams plenty of shopping areas food market very memorable for variety
got off plane and boarded shuttle bus to port queen street looking very shabby no time for excursions but changed radically since lived there overcrowded and very poor transport logistics
