Embarkation in Vancouver
Generally went well - we arrived at 12:00 and by 1:15-1:30 we were aboard. As we had 2 non US/Canadian citizens with us we had to go through the visitor immigration line, but that might have been faster than the longer resident immigration line. The only irritation was at he cruise check in counter when the lady had to re input all the basic information for each passenger, despite the fact I had completely and accurately filled out the cruise personalizer and had boarding passes for all. On top of that, she did not know what she was doing and had to get help multiple times. Why did I waste my time with the personalizer info? Just the check in at the Princess counter took at least 20-25 minutes. Despite having booked a Grand Suite, we saw no evidence of 'Preferred Boarding' lines that was mentioned as a benefit of a full suite.
The Ship
B750 - Grand Suite - just awesome. Huge by any standards, well designed and pretty quiet. Large living room area, large dining room area with table for 6, large bedroom with huge walk in closet. Large bathroom with 2 sinks, jacuzzi tub and awesome showers with 9 nozzles! Balcony is spectacular at half the width of the ship with large table, 4 chairs, 2 loungers in one section, and small table with 2 chairs in the other section. Entire balcony is lined with wood and floor is wood. Occasionally, people at the rail by the terrace pool looked down unto the balcony, but that did not happen often. Occasionally people threw their gum onto the balcony (happened twice). Nice!Occasional noise in the early morning when the crew is cleaning the terrace pool deck at 5:00am, but otherwise very quiet. At night you can hear the water in the terrace pool slosh around, but it did not bother us.
