This was our third cruise on this ship and although we loved every minute of it, it's just beginning to look a little tired. Not so much in the public areas but in the cabins. It will soon need some attention. It would be a shame if it lost its gloss. I've said this before, but it's a shame that all the Solstice class ships are so similar. We have done about 18 Celebrity cruises about 12 on Solstice class ships and there is no awe or wonder as we know exact,y what we are getting and where everything is. Having said that, Celebrity provide top notch service and always deliver a great holiday experience. We were blessed with the best weather we have had in the Carribean for years and that really helps.

We had a restricted view cabin on deck 6. The lifeboats don't bother us and we try to be mid ships. We chose select dining. We were with friends and we ate at 8.15 after the first show as it was really busy earlier on as it was quite an elderly crowd We found the best waitress ever, Milena who pampered to our every need with a smile and great service. I have dietary issues and she went out of her way to help me. We found the food as good, if not better than ever. The choices are less but you can have as many of the courses as you need!! The Oceanview cafe is still good although one or two of the choices I used to pick have disappeared but believe me, there is still plenty to choose from. Other things have also been dropped like the Captains welcome drink in the theatre, the Grand Buffet, sorbets on deck on sea days, ice carving on deck on sea days and much to my husbsnd's dissappointment, the kippers in the main dining room at breakfast have gone, but in all honesty, in all the years we've been cruising, the price has hardly changed so something has to give. It's a shame but it doesn't spoil it for me. One good change for us is the dropping of the formal nights. People dressed appropriately, some very dressy and I was very happy to see the lady at the door turn a man away from the restaurant who was wearing shorts. Well done! The entertainment was the usual fair, some good some not so much. Personally I thought the two production shows were modern and visually much improved / could do without the acrobats but that's just me. I enjoyed all the islands but felt the overnight in St Maartin was a bit of a let down. We arrived at 3pm and left at 4pm the next day, so to half days. Hmmm. Why?

All in all a very enjoyable cruise and looking forward to the next one

Cabin Review

Cabin 2D Verandah Cabin

The cabins are basically all the same unless you book a suite. Ours was a restricted view on deck 6 mid ships. Not really enough storage short of drawers and no bedside cabinets, just a couple of useless shelves. Bathrooms good. Shower doors so much better than a yucky curtain. Very comfy bed
