We had previously done this cruise last April and loved it. That was not the case this time. We were charged $26 a day for gratuities after we had sailed. This is the fourth cruise my wife and I had been on and the first time this has ever happened. I have had many conversations with customer service on the ship and my booking agent for Norwegian who say this is very clear. I disagree, many other cruisers were surprised by this charge also. Other than theses "very clear charges" getting a drink on the pool deck was a time consuming ordeal. There were very few waiters on this deck for the amount of people that were there, when you gave up on a waiter and went to a bar it was usually a minimum of a fifteen minute wait there also. The Roatan tender operation was a complete fail. We started to off load at 10 am. I was on the 4th tender boat and did not get ashore until 11:30 am. This is one of our favorite stops, so loosing an hour and a half of our beach time did not make us happy. The new Harvest Caye is just a way that Norwegian can get more of your money. If you want the nice white sand beach here it will cost you $400 for a cabana. We liked Belize City better because we could actually go out and experience the local culture more. We will be going back to Carnival.
