My husband and I went on this cruise for his 50th birthday. We had a FANTASTIC time! This is my 2nd cruise on Carnival and it was again a great experience and Carnival has the best customer service! Every employee we encountered had a great attitude, was very friendly and helpful. Our favorite place to get drinks and hang out at the bar was the pool side Red Frog Rum Bar on the Lido deck. Karseno was our favorite bartender! He was so nice and funny and helpful. We spent 4 of the 5 nights sitting at his bar having drinks! We really enjoyed him, the others at that bar and the other bars we great too, but Karseno was our favorite! Our cabin was great, we had a balcony cabin on the 7th floor port side. This was my 2nd time with a balcony room and it's the ONLY way to go! It's so nice and not much more expensive. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable.

I thought all the food was good and flavorful, we ate buffet a couple times, the pizza place, the dining room, Guy Fierie's, Blue Iguana. Some people complain about the food on cruise ships, but when you're feeding 3000+ people, it's not going to taste like a 5 star restaurant. But we had no complaints about food. My favorite was the burger from Guy Fieri's, it was VERY good. The only very minor complaint I have is the information session with Ry Ry the Shopping Guy. It's advertised to give you information on shopping in Cozumel, but it ended up being over an hour and it was mainly talk about expensive diamonds and watches, etc. But we along with several others left and didn't stay for the drawings at the end. It would have been nice to just hear about the stores, but not all the products in the stores that most people probably don't buy anyway. The hour before that was an in information session with Frankie the Cruise Director, and that was MUCH more informative, not nearly as long, and MUCH more entertaining. He gave lots of good tips on the excursions. So I anticipated Ry Ry the shopping guy's session to be similar, but it was not and a waste of time. But other than that minor complaint, I have no others, we had a GREAT time on the Carnival Valor.

In Cozumel, we went to Mr. Sancho's Beach Club which I reserved thru their website before the cruise, and we had a great experience, it was $55 per person, it included lunch and drinks, so we hung out at the beach and just enjoyed the food and drinks and they had great customer service as well. In Progreso we booked a last minute small excursion they announced that morning on the ship, it was a small tour of the town and then to a somewhat small beach resort called Silcer Beach Resort. It was very nice, good customer service, good food and drinks, and nice just chill out beach time. I highly recommend this cruise, Carnival Valor is great and you will have a fun time!!

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony AFT-P

We had a balcony room on the 7th deck, port side. A Balcony cabin is the ONLY way to go when cruising!!

Port Reviews

Cozumel

We didn't book the excursion thru the ship. I reserved it thru the beach club website prior to our cruise. We went to Mr. Sancho's Beach Club and it was FANTASTIC!
