Embarkation - Embarkation at San Francisco couldn't have been easier. Compared to our only other cruise experience with NCL, this was a snap. Maybe it was because we were early, and the lines hadn't formed yet. But it took us less than 15 minutes from the time we dropped off our luggage with the porter, to being welcomed aboard the ship. I missed the champagne which we thought we would be offered when we boarded, but there was none being offered. We were informed how to find our cabin, and everyone was very courteous. We found the atrium to be very exquisite, compared to our NCL ship on our last cruise. The departure from San Francisco was exciting. Everyone gathered on the top decks and were almost blown away by the wind coming into the bay from the Pacific. Cruising under the Golden Gate Bridge was different than a site seeing cruise from Pier 39. It appeared we were going to hit the bottom of the bridge, but the Captain assured us we had plenty of room to spare. Cheers went out as we passed under the bridge. We exchanged waves with people walking across the Golden Gate Bridge as we sailed between the tower supports. The temperature dropped quickly, and people who had been in the pools quickly got out and draped towels around themselves.
Our cabin was C406 on the Caribe Deck. There was more than adequate space for our clothes, and plenty of room under the bed to store all of our luggage. The only negative was the tiny TV that we were provided with limited and repeating programming. I hope when the ship is updated, flat screen TV's will be installed. Overall, the room was very adequate for our comfort.
