The Harmony is a new ship. The staterooms are tasteful decorated, with two separate closets and plenty of storage space. I was disappointed with embarkation. Initially There was no one curbside to take our luggage. We arrived at our assigned time, but were not given the usual courtesy of priority boarding. We were herded like cattle. We waited 6 hours to get our luggage to our room. This is my 35th cruise and by far the most disorganized. I expected so much better crowd control with such a large ship (6700 passengers). They have been doing this cruise since November and so many of the staff acted like it was their first day.
I waited 1/2 hour to get a drink and was overcharged. Bill should have been $20, got billed for incorrect AND correct amount of $27 ( $47 for two drinks!) it took 2 days to get this corrected. They automatically add an 18% gratuity for crappy service. $13 per drink definitely curbed my drinking. They nickel and dime you for everything! They sell popcorn at outdoor shows for $2.50 for a very small container.
The Windjammer cafe gets so crowded we were turned away at times. There are some specialty restaurants, but you have to pay $34 extra for spaghetti! And room service has additional charges. I was with a group of 14 (Family reunion) and were we were never able to get a dinner time together. Be prepared for poor service if you phone for any service. I made Diamond status on this cruise, but got none of the benefits. I was told to wait 10 days post cruise. There are no enrichment activities. Overall this cruise left me with a bad taste for RCI. I won't go out of my way to travel with again.
Nice decor.
Straw Market is interesting
