This was our 3rd time on the Eclipse for a 14 night cruise. After a less than thrilling cruise to Bermuda in May, we almost canceled this cruise. Glad that we kept the booking. The Eclipse was excellent. Our cabin was midship deck 7 on the hump. Loved the location. It was so convenient and very quiet. Our cabin steward, Bambong was Outstanding. No request was too much. We chose select dining. After a few nights, we settled into a great table with an excellent waiter, Joseph. His assistant, Francis, was also top notch. Food in the MDR was very good. We were happy that the Top Chef menu is gone. The Buffet choices were good. There were lots of staff available offering assistance. Tables were cleaned quickly. It usually was not a problem finding a table. The Pool Grill had delicious burgers and hot dogs. The only specialty restaurant that we ate at was the Tuscan Grill. It was not as good as it had been on previous cruises. We missed the Bistro on 5 which was replaced with a Sushi Restaurant. Menu items are priced too high and everything is priced per piece. I never saw anyone eating there. We loved the Cafe Al Bacio. as elite plus, we drank our share of free coffee and teas. Nice perk.
The elite cocktail nightly event was too large for any one venue. We used coupons to get drinks. Our favorite bars were at the aft..Sunset and Oceanview. It was nice to sail away watching the sunset with a drink. Entertainment was mediocre. Gazzarra was the best show. The violinist was the worst. The disembarkation was disorganized. We were off the ship before the bags showed up on the conveyer belt. We waited with lots of other anxious guests looking for their bags. I prefer the bags separated by number. We had a great time.
Nice cabin with the bed near the bathroom. Good location on the hump.
