We chose this company because we were told that P & O were the best around so we booked a 16 day holiday around the Canary Islands in celebration of my wife,s birthday.Getting on the ship was fairly quick and easy,with plenty of helpful and friendly staff to assist with embarkation.We had booked a room with a balcony,which we found to be ok in size with lots of room for all our clothes etc.We found the cabin steward,Suresh,was always friendly and helpful,nothing was too much trouble.

We were allocated "Freedom Dining" in the Cinammon Restaurant which meant we could go in there at any time in the evening.The trouble was that if we wanted a table for two there was almost always a wait of anywhere between 20 and 40 minutes.The staff in the restaurant were great and nothing was too much trouble but the food was repetative with not too much choiceAlso on other cruises we have been on the food was delivered to your table with dishes of vegetables served seperately but here everything was plated and then delivered to your table.In the mornings we had breakfast in the buffets on Platform 15.This was always packed and more often than not we had trouble finding a table Often there were people just sitting at the window seats just reading books obviousely that was their seat for the day.There were queues for everything.Also the food was almost everytime cold,and during the whole holiday I never once had a soft yolked egg There wasn't a great deal of choice either.In the end we never bothered about breakfast.We ate at lunchtimes at the pool grill but even the burger and chips were frequently cold

The onboard entertainment was great especially the staff with the only reservation was that people were rushing in the venues approx.two hours before the shows to make sure they got their seats,making it sometimes impossible to get into the show you wanted to see. Read more
