We knew we wanted to go on Royal after talking with friends and family who have been on Royal. Liberty was a good choice because of our budget, stops, what it had to offer for entertainment and the dates.

We flew into Hobby Houston, stayed at a hotel near the airport and used Royal's cruise transport. It's about an hour to the port from the airport. Maybe it was a bad day, or something happened but our transport didn't arrive at 10:30 rather it was nearly noon, so that was disappointing. Plus the driver made us hold 2 of our duffle bags, and they were too big to go overhead or under our feet. We'd look for a different transportation option next time, but the return to the airport was just fine.

We also used the hotel shuttle (we flew in a day early and stayed the night) to pick up a case of water and a 12 pack of soda to take on board and we're glad we did, we used it for excursions and just drinking. The fridge is barely cool, so don't count on it to keep medicine cold if that is necessary for you.

Promenade Stateroom

Cabin PR

Our steward (Alex Basil) was fantastic. Our room was clean and bigger than i was expecting. We loved the window seat that looked over the Promenade. We were above a pub but the noise from it was muffled.
