We chose this cruise because we wanted to drive to the port and we like the line. We stayed Sat. night at the Hilton-Houston Nasa Clear Lake. It's a good location and we do not like driving in the day of a cruise. We parked with EZ Cruise parking and used their shuttle to the pier. It didn't take very long to board since we had booked a suite.

We thought the room was huge and loved all the extra perks, especially priority tendering. The service was good and everyone was friendly and helpful. The balcony had 2 padded lounge chairs as well as two regular chairs and a table. The only minus was the fact the people using the hot tub a few floors up could look down on the balconies.(This is because the hot tub sticks out from the ship.)

The ship was clean and well maintained- no problems that had to be fixed. We used My Time dining and I had made reservations for 6 before we came which may be the reason we never waited for a table- either that or the fact we were in the suite line- while others were given pagers to wait for a table. We only ate breakfast a few times at the Windjammer Buffet- since we could eat at Giovanni's-suite perk. Another perk we liked was going up to the suite lounge during the day and just sit and look at the view. It was much bigger than the Diamond lounge. during Happy Hour we did use the 3 coupons loaded on our seapass to get drinks from the ship bars instead of going up to the lounges-too crowded.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

The cabin was huge with more than enough drawers and closet space. It also had full length mirrors. The bed was firm but still comfortable and although I missed my feather pillow I was OK with theirs. The bathroom has a hand held shower, two sinks and a very high tub. That made it hard to get out of and I was careful to use the grab bars getting in and out. We had a sofa , table, and single serve coffee maker. The coffee maker didn't make great coffee, but it uses pods so you can't use your own coffee. The mini-fridge wasn't really cold but would keep wine and water cool enough to drink. We liked the two padded lounges and large balcony. It was a little too windy to sit outside if we were underway, but great if we were in port or not going too fast. We'll get this suite class again.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Galveston is a lovely sea port with lots of shops and good seafood restaurants. I wanted to stay at the Galvez before this cruise, but they were sold out. We lilke the fact we can get indoor parking and they will take us to the pier and pick us up. When we've sailed out of here before we stayed on the island and had a great time.

Cozumel

Cozumel is a great place to shop. We make a list of things we're looking for and walk around the area shopping and taking pictures. We don't take a taxi to downtown we as have plenty to do where the ship docks. We get off the ship early before it gets too hot and go back to the ship for lunch, but we did see lots of people eating and drinking at the restaurants. It's a good idea to know the US price of what you're buying here so you'll know if you're getting a good deal. It will be crowded as lots of other ships will be in port with you.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Grand Cayman is a tender port so be prepared to wait. Once there it's easy to walk around and shop or find a place to eat. If you want to leave the area taxis are available. This is a clean, safe port with a bank on every corner and very friendly people. The prices are good and I always buy too much.

Falmouth

This was our first time here and we were very impressed at how clean and well maintained the area is compared to other cities in Jamaica. It also felt very safe. We shopped and took pictures, but didn't go out of the enclosed area. If you want to see more you need to go on a tour. We enjoyed this port.
