Our cruise started with soaked luggage that was dry prior to getting to the ship.  We called the desk relations and they stated they would launder 12 items per person.  My luggage had 40 items that were soaked including my formal gown ($350.00) new., and my husband's new suit. They finally agreed to launder the clothes. When we received the clothes back they were wrinkled and the steward had left them on the bed with my husband's suit on the bottom.  Since it took so long to get everything resolved we did not get a chance to look at the ship prior to going to dinner. My husband and I have been on five cruises prior to this cruise.  We have used NCL, Princess and Royal Caribbean.  On the last Royal Caribbean we went to England, Scotland, Ireland, and Norway on the Jewel of the Seas and had an excellent cruise so we were very disappointed with the management of this cruise.  In fact, we never had any problems with any of our cruises like we did with this cruise. We asked our room attendant for robes and he stated that only the suites get robes.  We also had to ask for soap, ice, and for diet soda to be replenished in our fridge. Our bathroom was leaking water on the floor so we asked our room attendant to fix it.  Our sheets had yellow stains on them, and the room was never vacuumed. They do not put chocolates on the pillows  and they do not have lobster night which is probably due to the recession. We took a lot of shore excursions with Royal Caribbean since we were not familiar with the cities.  The tour to Rome was terrible.  The guide talked for 30 minutes outside the Coliseum, and then we had only 30 minutes to walk around.  Other shore excursions were okay. When we took the Royal Caribbean's shuttle in Dubrovnik we waited outside in the sun for over 30 minutes.  It was very hot so we asked an attendant and they said that there were 3 other ships and they did not know when the next bus would arrive.  We ended up using the city bus (no air) to get to the old city.  The food in the dining room was not fine dining.  Several other people made the same comments. The desserts were terrible and the food was the worse we have ever had on any cruise.  I have never posted a review because all of our previous cruises have been excellent and I am not one to complain but there were too many things that happened on this cruise that both my husband and I believe that other people who travel should be aware of.  When we picked up our luggage to disembark we could not find two of our luggage. We asked several Royal Caribbean people but they said to look for them.  We looked for one hour and we were starting to get worried about making our flight so I asked another attendant to please find our luggage.  They found the luggage in the back.  We are not sure why it was in the back, but it was labeled correctly.  We used their buses to get to the airport and waited another 20 minutes until the bus was full.  We made our flight but we have never encountered anything like this.  We will never use Royal Caribbean again and will go with Princess in the future.

Cabin Review

We were in cabin number 9622.  Our cabin was quiet, however the closet was small and the room needed some upgrading.  The bathroom had a leak and they fixed it.
