First time on the Caribbean Princess. Had sailed with Princess on three previous cruises. Generally, crew was good however they were not particularly pleasant or helpful beyond what was required. Crew members did share the ship was headed for refurbishing (two weeks) in March. Given the worn feel and mechanical problems experienced, should consider major overhaul.

Some of the problems experienced with the ship included AC out for a few days in several locations (Fitness Center, one side of buffet seating, theater, etc.) What was surprising was that the crew (main service desk, Horizon buffet, Fitness Center and others) would not acknowledge the problem and expressed little interest in offering any status update.) Cabin toilet out and plumbing problems on the Emerald deck for short time.

Horizon & Caribe dining - buffet -- Compared with previous Princess Cruises very little variety of food in buffet. No attempt for artistic or creative presentation of food. No fruit carvings or effort to make buffet attractive.

Cabin Review

Oceanview

First time in a window cabin. Previously had always had a balcony. Cabin was a bit worn but comfortable. Had one small problem with toilet not working for a short time. Were unaware until we arrived that bunk beds were mounted on each side of the bed. Bit tight and bumped it several times getting in and out of bed. Cabin steward was good. Room was always good. Freshened multiple times per day!

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

For overnight stay, would avoid staying at the Days Inn West Broward Blvd. Shuttle very slow and not on favorable schedule (suggest Uber). Checkin very slow and rooms very worn and questionable cleanliness.

Aruba

Very nice. Lots of upscale shops and restaurants. Nice walking areas.

Bonaire

Smaller and less developed as the other ports of call. Very pretty and great views walking along the water. Easy 60 minute or more walk.
