Just returned two days ago from sailing the Pride Jan 29-Feb 5, Cozumel, Belize, Roatan and Grand Cayman. This was our second cruise with Carnival and have also sailed RCC, Norwegian and Princess. I can honestly say that Carnival is just a good of a cruise line as any other. The itinerary was great and we had super weather. Our cabin steward, Rommel, was great as well as all of our waiters/waitresses for breakfast/dinner. I found the ship decor very nice but that is something that isn't important to me. As long as it's clean, I'm good.
My hubby and I had the chance to do the Chef's Table (his Christmas present) and it is SO worth it. The table is nicely presented with Kenny G music playing softly in the background with course after course of - well, I don't really know what. I knew my husband would love it as he has a much more sophisticated palate than me and...love it he did. But for me it was about the experience and dining with interesting folks from all walks of life around the table. The chef had overheard me say that I don't eat beef so when the main course of beef was presented he bought me a beautifully presented piece of chicken. Now that is excellent customer service. So if you get the chance, I would highly recommend this. Plus you get the highly coveted recipe for chocolate melting cake. Ha!
The one thing I did find lacking on this cruise is the music and entertainment. Last year we sailed RC Allure of the Seas and WOW! Outstanding! But on the Pride it was hard to come by a nice jazz bar and the comedians were just okay. I've been on some cruises where the comedians were so funny my stomach hurt. Now this is just my opinion as you might like them just fine. (We did PG shows only.)
Just did port shopping in Cozumel.
Ventured to the beach right off the ship for the day. Very pretty and relaxing.
