We spent two nights in Vancouver, BC before the cruise and thoroughly enjoyed the city.  We took a shuttle from our hotel to the pier.  Luggage service was outstanding.  We left our hotel at 10:15am and we're in our cabin by 11:30am.  One of the best Embarkation processes we have ever experienced. The ship is very nice, clean and in good repair.  We had an obstructed OV cabin and it turned out great.  Almost all of the window was clear of obstruction.  The cabin size is great and has plenty of storage space. We had a wonderful cabin steward, Christian. We selected Anytime Dining (first time we have ever done this) and it was quite good.  It is definitely not the way to meet people, however, we were looking for some relaxation.  The ports were great and for the most part met our expectations.Entertainment was good.  The Casino was terrible.  The slot machines were so old, we were playing slots we haven't seen in 10 years.  Never heard anyone winning. The biggest disappoinment we experienced was the food on board.  I had been told that Princess dining was one of the best.  By far, the worst we have experienced in 20 trips.  The Lido is very small with a buffet line on each side of the ship.  The buffet was limited to say the least.  The eggs that were served looked like the frozen ones that are reheated.  The omelets that were served was the omlette of the day.  I was told you could get a custom omelet made, however, when I tried, all the chefs were too busy.  Pancakes were cold and spongy.  It was very difficult to find a table for breakfast and/or lunch.  May people would sit at the tables by the windows and just not leave. Could not find a slice of warm ham the whole week. The lunch buffet was not much better.  There were no carving stations, sandwiches were premade and wrapped in plastic.  Two meats were served and if you didn't like them, then you were out of luck.  The pastas were under cooked and actually hard. The salad bar, was by far, the best on the lunch menu.Dinner wasn't anything spectacular.  We had a great Prime Rib the first night and then it was down hill from there.  We ordered the fillet and it was very tough.  Ordered another steak on Friday night and it was full of grissel and fat.  Ended up eating a baked potato and french fries for dinner.  We had a great dessert the first night, Bananas Foster, but then the selection was basically down to two so most nights it was ice cream with a topping.  The best meal was in the Sterling Steakhouse.  The ambiance, however, isn't much.  It is just a part of the Lido that they block off, add tablecloths and a table candle.  Disembarkation was wonderful.  Again, best we have experienced. The trip was enjoyable, however, would I sail Princess again, probably not.  I now can see the difference between Royal Caribbean and Carnival.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin OV

Obstructed cabin not totally obstructed.  Good closet space. We were on the 8th floor and on some nights could really hear the band coming through.
