Sail Date: Jan 2017

We picked by the date and that we have been past passengers on Princess and we had jut moved into Elite Status. This ship is the largest and newest of the fleet, however the rooms are much smaller than the older ships. Departing from Ft Lauderdale is the handiest for us as it is less than a 4 hour drive from our home outside of Tampa. Itinerary was not important other than we wanted to go to Princess Cays, the private island which is very relaxing and enjoyable for us. We have been to the Cozumel and Grand Cayman many times before. Montego Bay was not a preferred stop but we did get off the ship and walk a short distance.

Since we have sailed on Princess many times before we were looking for good food and great service. That was not the case. Princess has increased the gratuity that is charged to each room but has decreased the number of personnel to take care of the passengers. Dining service was very slow, plan on at least 90 minutes for dinner in the dining room. Embarkation and debarkation were very smooth and efficient and we had our room shortly after we boarded (12:30pm) and our luggage was delivered prior to our attending the ship's safety drill. We used the Walk Off option for disembarkation and we were off the ship by 7am. We used Park and Go and the shuttle was waiting for us when we got off the ship and we were on the road by 7:15am and home by 11am. You have to pack light as you have to carry you luggage yourself but it is the mose efficient way to get off the ship.

Cabin Review

Cabin C247

C247 is a balcony cabin in the forward section. From it you can easily get to the pool areas, atrium, spa, International Café, Alfredo's, theatre and main dining rooms. The show room, Vista Lounge, is at the aft of the ship and a long trek.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We park our car at Park n Go and Ft Lauderdale is the handiest port for us.

Princess Cays

Love this private island. Plenty of activities and the picnic lunch is fabulous. Also three (3) different bars so there is no waiting for a drink.

Montego Bay

There is really nothing at the port. You need to take an excursion to enjoy anything but Jamaica is not our favorite island

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We did get off the ship and walk arouund the port area. Lots of shops but we are shoppers per se. We just did it for something to do and the weather was good.

Cozumel

We have been here previously and we did get off the ship to walk around the port. There are a number of good tours from past experience.
