We wanted a quick winter getaway and a West Coast departure was more convenient. This cruise fit the requirement. We used the Princess transfer from the airport because of the distance to the port since we had used the Princess air program for the flight on the day of the cruise departure. All that went well.

The cabin was a little smaller than our previous (first Princess) cruise even though we booked the same category. If the bed had been replaced then it went bad very quickly. It was much too soft and sagged in spots. My husband and I both spent most of the cruise with aching backs. Our room steward did a great job.

We generally had breakfast and lunch at the Horizon Buffet and it was nice that coffee, etc. was offered when you sat down. The new hand washing stations are a bit of a bottleneck. You often waited in line to wash while others ignored the line and went straight in to the buffet. Purel should be offered as an alternative. The food was a bit above average but not great. Most of the muffins, sweet breads and cakes were on the dry side. We did enjoy the omelets at breakfast and the wide variety of add-ons for the green salad at lunch. Dinner in the main dining room was good and service was great as usual but there didn't seem to be a lot of variety. But somehow we did manage to leave the dining room quite full!

A little on the small size but adequate storage. Bed was not so great! Appreciated that the balcony did not extend out beyond the deck above.
