We chose this cruise to just get away and relax. We had been on a sister ship, the Vision, a few years back and enjoyed it very much. We were sadly disappointed with the Rhapsody. A beautiful ship, but too many disappointing experiences to be able to fully recommend this ship.
Embarkation was slow but smooth, and we were soon enjoying lunch in the Windjammer. When we were able to go to our cabins, we had to literally fight to exit the elevator because the luggage carts were totally blocking the elevator doors. Everyone's luggage had been left in the elevator area, so we joined everyone else in hunting down our own bags. Our deck 3 ocean view cabin was comfortable and clean, and our stateroom attendant did a great job of keeping us in ice (no fridge).
Lunch and breakfast meals were fine, although there were often many slippery wet spots on the floor entering the Windjammer. Dinner in the Windjammer was not up to RCCL standards. Poor selection (did not recognize many of the dishes), cheaper offerings (pasta, rice, pork and poultry) and sometimes cold or poorly prepared food. Dinner in the main dining room was hit and miss, some dishes excellent, others not so good. On the first formal night, the Windjammer food looked like lunch's leftovers. When we commented to a manager, we were told it was "because most people go to the dining room on formal night".
