We chose this cruise having travelled once before about 8 years ago on a thomson cruise. We knew the standards (and ceilings) were lower than the larger cruise lines we have been on, but also that the entertainment more than made up for it last time, and that the food had be quite good. We wanted and inexpensive winter sun break and this fitted.

Having read the reviews we were not expecting too much, but were still shocked at the small size of the cabin, and also the engine noise once the boat started up. We had been assigned cabin 491, twin beds (as a lot of the cabins are) and this was right over the engine area. If you are offered anything this low or from 480 onwards, try and get changed! I suffer from migraines and had a very first bad night, despite being told by reception this was a quiet room and I would be fine! We immediately requested a change of room, and the following night were moved - after paying £100. There was no noise in the new room, midship, floor 8. The room otherwise was exactly the same size but a double bed. We got used to it. Bed was comfy.

Food - buffet was disgusting, and not just the cattle like attitude to eating there. School dinners come to mind, slop also. Used the main waiter service restaurant whenever we could, and the service was good, but the food only average, and the same everywhere. Also, be prepared to share tables - only about 8 tables for two between the two restaurants, and there was always a queue of people waiting for them.
