We chose this cruise primarily, because it departed from Melbourne.
The food in the Horizon Court was good with plenty of variety. However, the food in the dining room was very disappointing. The traditional parade of the Bombe Alaskas was pathetic and the bombs we fake. The bombe we ate was more a cheap ice cream cake. If they can't do it properly with real bombs which are then served at the table, then they should just scrap the whole thing
The entertainment was good, although, no provision was made for more activities for the extra days at sea. Two port visits were cancelled due to bad weather. Surely a back-up plan should be in place just in case. The last few days of the cruise were really boring. I found the cruise director a bit "cheesy" and felt like I was at a holiday camp. The deputy was a bit aloof but the rest of the cruise director’s staff were great
The stateroom was fine with all the amenities you'd expect. However, there was a bit of what looked like mould on the bathroom sink grout which was a bit off-putting. The bedding was old and threadbare and a funny off-white colour.
I live in Melbourne and I think it's the best city in the world that's why it's been rated the world's most livable city about eight times!
