This was my 3rd norwegian cruise in the past two years (others were Dawn Boston to Bermuda, and Breakaway NY to bahamas). This was a good cruise; was 4 days longer than the last two I took which worked well. The down points of this cruise: First the new policy you are not allowed to bring your own bottled water, that was a bummer but you should be able to work around it by brining water bottles and having the bar serve you seltzer water if needed.
The one other downfall was the food in the main dining rooms. The specialty restaurants were phenomenal as always (specifically carney's) but the free dining has diminished greatly from the last two cruises. One night it was inedible and I am not a particularly fussy eater. Several other passengers, including the tables sitting on each side of me on this particular night could not eat anything served either. The other nights were better and prime rib night in the main dining was very good but overall quality has diminished. The staff was great and service good but food comparatively poor.
The one last poor update was the beverage package. Some of the drinks have been increased in price and do not qualify for the unlimited beverage package. Particularly the martinis ( i am not a big martini drinker but rum cake martini are good). So the martini price was increased from 14.95 which was under the 15.00 threshold to 17.00. They do apply 15.00 toward the price so the martini is $3 with tip and tax. On vacation getting a 17.00 drink for 15.00 isn't breaking the bank but it was the principle that sucked and makes me wonder when the prices of other drinks will follow.
Beaches are best no excursion needed
Go to the beach. 8$ cab and 15$ for a chair for the day
Busy Port the week we were there. Could have had more fun another day in a different port but it was fine.
